About The Show
Menopause The Musical™ is a celebration of women who are on the brink of, in the middle of, or have survived The Change. It was created to be a "grassroots" movement that deals with life after 40, with all the challenges that result in the mental, physical and spiritual freedom of over 20 million baby-boomer females. A parody of 26 relyricized '60s and '70s tunes, the production culminates with a high-spirited salute to every woman who has turned 50... I've Got A New Attitude!

History
Conceived in 1994 over a bottle of wine and a major hot flash, Menopause The Musical™ was written by Jeanie Linders during the summer of 2000. The plan to launch the project came together on December 11, 2000 at 4:20 p.m. (yes, to the minute), and opening night in The Exchange Theatre was March 28, 2001. Scheduled to run for six weeks, the show — a raging word-of-mouth success — closed after nine weeks of sold-out shows to give the cast (and ticket lady) a well-earned break in order to prepare for their next opening.
